DevSync 2025 is a national level open-source fest uniting developers, students, and tech enthusiasts to collaborate, innovate, contribute and build real-world solutions perfect for all skill levels. This year, we’re adding a spooky twist — get ready for chills, code, and killer vibes!!

Anyone with a passion for tech! Whether you’re a beginner, student, or experienced professional, DevSync is open to all.

Is this event in-person or virtual?

DevSync 2025 is a fully virtual event, so you can join from anywhere—yes, even from a haunted house!

Not at all! We have beginner-friendly projects, mentors, and workshops to help you get started.

What happens if I submit a spammy pull or merge request?

Spammy pull or merge requests will be marked as “spam” by maintainers and closed. These won’t be counted for DevSync, and contributors with 2 or more spam submissions will be disqualified.

Do pull or merge requests need maintainer approval?

To get your PRs/MRs accepted in DevSync, maintainers can either merge them, label them a “devsync-accepted,” or leave an approving review. Once accepted, they enter a 7-day review period during which the approval can still be revoked.

What happens to low-quality or bad repositories?

Make sure your PRs/MRs actually matter — they should help maintainers and contribute something meaningful. Repos made just for DevSync points, or ones filled with easy, low-effort stuff like name drops or random code, won’t make the cut. It’s cool to have fun, but quality always wins.

Why submit low-quality pull or merge requests?

DevSync is all about real contributions, not filler. Here’s what’s a hard pass:

→ Bot PR/MRs: Running scripts to fix typos or remove whitespace just to get points.
→ Sneaky PR/MRs: Stealing someone else's branch/commits and trying to claim them as yours.
→ Spammy stuff: Anything marked as spam by the maintainer.
→ Farming points: Submitting PRs/MRs just to rack up numbers.
→ Unnecessary repeats: Like making 4 PRs just to remove one stray space.

Absolutely. Open source events encourage teamwork and networking. You can work solo or join a team.
